Endless Numbered Mixtape #7: Gang Gang Dance “House Jam (XXXChange Remix)”
Here’s the XXXChange (from Spank Rock) remix of the new cut from Gang Gang Dance called “House Jam (XXXChange Remix).”
I’m usually lukewarm to Gang Gang Dance. For me, they generally spend too much time in Mindfuckland, and not enough time in the really beautiful moments they’re capable of.
That said, this track’s got some nice guitar and an overall 80′s vibe I’m digging quite a bit. But keep in mind this is a remix, the actual album version probably isn’t this awesome.

I dunno. I just don’t typically like my Gang Gang Dance this accessible. I suppose I’m skewed based on their previous material being the dissonant bliss I often find it to be. Having said that, if it were recorded in 1982, my attitude would be significantly more receptive to it.
I might be wrong. Who knows.

I like it. I don’t know if I could do a whole album’s worth of this sound, but in tiny bits it’s not too shabby. Though it goes without saying that I like to keep my pop music firmly within the borders of Mindfuckland.
