Nineteen Hundred Seventy-Five

I started this project on a music forum I frequent, to get 10 people to do a mix for each year of the 1970s (1980s will be next).
I picked 1975. It starts off all droopy and kraut-y, and slowly works it’s way through some brown people (and the lead singer of Bread), coming to a crescendo with a little rawk (and Hall & Oates).
1. Le Mystére Des Voix Bulgares “Polegnala e Todora (A Love Song)”
2. Manuel Göttsching “Quasarsphere”
3. Labi Siffre “Down”
4. Brian Eno “French Catalogues”
5. Keith Jarrett “Prayer”
6. Neu! “Isi”
7. Harmonia “Kekse”
8. Gilberto Gil & Jorge Ben “Sarro”
9. Caetano Veloso “Gravidade”
10. David Gates “Playin’ On My Guitar”
11. Toots & The Maytals “Sit Right Down”
12. The Meters “Out In The Country”
13. Jerzy Milian “Kura Kureka”
14. Hall & Oates “Gino (The Manager)”
15. Thin Lizzy “For Those Who Love To Live”
16. Led Zeppelin “The Wanton Song”
17. Head East “Never Been Any Reason”

niiice.
can’t wait to listen.
i’ll let you know if anything knocks me on my ass.
caetano veloso could be making an appearance on my 1972 mix, as well.
‘transa’ came out in 1972, so i have some good ones to choose from.

see, now THAT’S a mix!!
How’d you know I was completely queer for that Head East track? I thought I’d kept it under wraps for the better part of 20 years. … And the Neu? …AND the Eno, Zep, Lizzy & “Gino” ? How?? Massive props for any Ash Ra related material as well.
Refuckingsult!
