“This Lonely Love,” by Juliana Hatfield
This new video from Juliana Hatfield bodes awfully well for her new upcoming album How To Walk Away. Maybe it’s the autumnal setting (can you tell I’m ready for fall?), maybe it’s Richard Butler’s background vocals in the chorus, maybe it’s just a really good song (probably a combination of all three, huh).
The “money-shot” is around the 3-minute mark, when the song hits a piano break and the camera focuses on Juliana’s semi-demonic gaze, and then the song kicks back in.
How To Walk Away is out this Tuesday (8/19/08).

i’m lookin’ forward to hearing the new album. i like this song, and hatfield and dando have been dominating me for the last week and a half.

Did you read the recent interview with her on Popmatters? She pretty much said that she hates touring, being a musician, clubs, songwriting, all that stuff. She just wrote a book and wishes that she could just give up the rock star thing, be a writer, and “grow up.” Weird.
