Did you ever get your non-Criterion version back from its most recent borrower? I want to revel in the Dignan from whence cometh Dizzee Digs the D.O.G.G. (De Ol’ Grey Gangsta, of course). Speaking of his sleekness, and of flip cameras (as we were yesterday), and also neatly connecting last night’s Gregg Allman Highway 6 action with a little Sunday Morning teutonic chanteusing, which, very snake-eating-it’s-own-tail, hooks right back to Wes Anderson’s oeuvre (whew, what were we saying about circles and lines again? I forget):

You know showing me a video of beautiful grey Weimaraners is only going to make me want to go get another one!!
Will the Circle be Unbroken??

The circle bends but does not break, muthafucka.
This one seems the most appropos of yr. current chair-sitting hound: http://www.flickr.com/photos/deanallen/2508585608/
Also, I MAY HAVE TOLD YOU THIS ALREADY (hee), there was a great article in the NYTimes (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/13/magazine/13pets-t.html?em) re: the angst of the animals in our midst; basically, we love our animals so much we’ve turned them into neurotic messes, just like us, and now we’re looking for chemical bullet, the puppy uppers-n-doggie downers that’ll turn them into tractable, productive members of the household. The next week, a vet wrote in to say:
“In my own practice experience, and consistent with the animals described in the article by James Vlahos (July 13), all types of neurotic behaviors are far more prevalent in single-pet households. If it can be managed, two or more pooches or cats are easier to live with than one. Friendship and vigorous activity go a long way in preventing nutty behavior. Just like us.”
Now don’t say I don’t enable you!
(Although, remember Archie and the difficulties of canine adolescence when dreaming of second pups…)
